About Us

Aromatherapy is a therapeutic treatment, using essential oils with a specialised massage, which enhances wellbeing, relieves stress and helps in the rejuvenation and regulation of the human body.  The essential oils are individually blended for each customer.

This treatment is recognised by orthodox and complementary health professionals to be one of the most beneficial natural therapies.

The International Federation of Aromatherapists (I.F.A.) is an organisation especially for Aromatherapists and people interested in aromatherapy.

Our Profile

The IFA is an independent NON PROFIT professional body founded in the UK in 1985. The Australian branch was established in 1989 and became incorporated in 1993.

All fully qualified IFA aromatherapists have undergone considerable training in usually two or more bodywork disciplines, including the Specialised Aromatherapy massage technique which is a combination of Lymphatic Drainage, Shiatsu, Swedish and Reflexology techniques. The combination of this body work with prescribed blends of oils for each client will make up the bulk of most Aromatherapy treatments. Because of the strength and volatility of the essential oils, they are diluted into cold pressed vegetable oils before being applied to the skin.

The IFA represents over 400 professional Aromatherapists throughout Australia and Asia, and is responsible for providing research support to members and for encouraging the spread of information about Aromatherapy in practice. The IFA remains a progressive association by continually updating its' constitution, code of practice and code of ethics. The Federation does this through regular state based workshops and its own quarterly magazine "Simply Essential".

You can be assured of quality education in the art and practice of Aromatherapy through Post Graduate courses accredited by the IFA.

All courses include the study of :

bulletSpecialised Aromatherapy technique.
bulletIn depth study of Chemistry and Pharmacology of Pure Essential Oils.
bulletPractical aspects of Essential Oil usage i.e. safety data and contra indications.

Full or part time study programs :

bulletSpecific anatomy and physiology for the Aromatherapist eg. olfaction and dermal
absorption.
bulletCounselling skills.
bulletPersonalised manufacture of skin care and therapeutic products.

The Federation's internationally accredited courses are at the academic forefront of this rapidly growing profession and assure the student of established and proven standards of excellence.
